Happy new year fam! Whohoo! I’m glad you made it to the year.
So, I took a long break from here, I know, I’m not happy it was that long. But I’m back and let’s get this journey started!
Things are going to be a bit different here. My blog would now be a combination of my voice-overs and write-ups. I’m still trying to find a balance to this so fingers crossed.
It’s February, Valentine season-no matter how late it is and I’ve been known to have lots of crushes, yep! And I just couldn’t help but share my crush stories and experiences. So, here goes! You’ll find out shortly what the title of this blog post is, enjoy!
I’ve always hated being embarrassed( who doesn’t anyways) and I avoided situations that’d lead to that as much as I could. One happened that I couldn’t control and it happened when my crush was present.
I attended Mayflower School, Ikenne and I’d had a crush on Mosope Olowu since JS2. He was tall, had caramel skin, and is sooooo fine!
We only talked a few times but boy we’d stare at each other all day in class. When we got to senior secondary school, I was in the art class and he was in commercial, so we didn’t see each other as much as we used to. But then, he offered literature in place of geography and would come to my class whenever we had that, good for us yeah!
So, you see, I had a fine handwriting and could write fast, so I was made the board writer of my class, dope yeah?!
One day, our literature teacher, can’t remember her name but I know we nicknamed her Mrs. Ogedengbe(a story for another time), if you know you know. She told me what to write, told me the previous pages she skipped weren’t necessary and the one I was to write was a summary of the skipped pages. I said I understood.
I got to the class, Dayo Adebiyi came to me and we checked the notes together. She said we hadn’t written the exact ones our teacher asked me not to write. And up until now, I don’t know why, but I wrote the one I wasn’t supposed to write. I returned the note to our teacher and life continued.
The next time we had Literature -in- English, Mrs. Ogedengbe came, asked for where we stopped, and saw I had written what she told me not to write.
She called me and I walked up to the front of the class. She asked me why I had written what I wasn’t supposed to write and I couldn’t answer, I just stuttered. The next thing I heard was a slap on my cheek, and she kept on talking. I didn’t even hear anything. My eyes filled with tears, my face flushed with embarrassment, I don’t know how I made it to my seat. I placed my head on my desk and let the tears flow. And I think the tears flowed more not because of the pain but cuz my crush was in class when it happened. 😩😩
The end!
Thank you for reading, you do know that I value your opinions, comments, and shares. Pls, feel free to share similar experiences, let’s all have a good laugh. It feels so good to be back!
Yours truly,
Petite Prisca,
Ciao!

Awwnnn how sad.. But seriously don’t you think we need to have a conversation on teachers hitting students any how in school? Although, I understand our culture subscribes to the ‘the community raises a child’, but make these teachers dey do small small na

It’s more annoying knowing you were helping Mrs Ogedengbe with her responsibility. Some of these teachers can be annoying sha.

Petite Prisca! First of all, it’s great to have you back🤗.
This is so well written, well done. Thank God teachers are no longer allowed to punish students anyhow anymore in most schools, to think that you were only assisting Mrs Ogedengbe. Meanwhile, I’m interested in the story that led to her nickname 😂

Hmmm I had similar experience but that happened to me when I was in ss3. I also attended mayflower school, I was in a relationship with Mariam oladejo. The embarrassment came on that very day my name was announced on stage for been part of mayflower school black list, and the whole assembly was echoing my name. She also felt embarrassed bcos student was also chanting her name. You knw na, nothing can be kept as a secrete in that school.
I’m proud to be an Ex-may.
